BLASTFIEND Webzine (Usa)

This Compilation CDR from French Nihilistic Holocaust productions comes with a full color professionally printed cover and an information sheet. The CD is packed with 35 sick underground grind core songs. To mention some: Ahumado Granujo, Damaged, Pig Destroyer, Mastic Scum, Darklord, Impurity, Hate, Tombthroat, Repugnant, Siksakubur and a lot more. Usually the problem with most grind core bands is that they (well at least in my humble opinion) over focus on speed and brutality. Because of that, they usually forget to put some elements in that make their music stand out. There are, of course, exceptions. A compilation CD like this is a great opportunity to discover new bands and to hear what bands stand out. One of the first bands that caught my attention was the Australian band Damaged. Their song is bursting of energy and sounds great. It is a mixture of death, grind and black metal riffing. The vocals are grunts, but have a thrashy sound. A band to keep an eye on! The second band that stands out is the Italian Illogicist. Their music isn’t grind core, but thrashy technical death metal. Although they need to work on songwriting, they sound promising. Enemynside, also from Italy, proof that the name for this compilation CD misstands. They play a modern form a thrash metal, which sounds tight and powerful. Other bands that stand out are: Psycroptic (sick thrashy death grind from Australia), Incinera (classic thrash from Sweden), Impurity (cliché but tightly played brutal death grind from the USA), Repugnant (thrashy black metal from Sweden), Siksakubur (Indonesia. Although it’s a total Suffocation rip-off, it is played with full conviction and sound really sick). Compilation CDs like this are a great opportunity to explore what the worldwide underground has got to offer. Order it now!

La compil qui detruit vos tympans, vos enceintes, vos voisins et qui vous fait du bien surtout le matin dans les bouchons lorsque vous ouvrez votre fenêtre devant un passage piéton sur lequel traverse gentiment un coincé de premiere. Du grind multinational pendant 80 minutes avec pour unique but la violence musicale ceci que le groupe vienne d'Autriche, de Suède, de France, d'Indonésie, du Japon ... Et bien un seul mot me vient à l'esprit : Arggghhh!!! (esprit limité peut être!!) et oui, c'est tellement intense et violent que mon rythme cardiaque me souffle (au coeur) d'éteindre ma platine mais je ne peux y arriver et attendrais la fin de cette brutallisssime compil.

 

LA HORDE NOIRE Webzine

Voici une compile plutôt interessante avec une trentaine de groupes à découvrir pour un prix réduit (6 E). Les groupes présentés évoluent tous dans un registre Death/Grind voir trash ou hardcore et cela de façon originale. Les origines géographiques des groupes vont du Japon aux USA en passant par l'Indonésie et bénéficient tous d'un son correct. Voici un descriptif des quelques groupes qui m'ont le plus marqué : ILLOGICIST est un groupe d'Aoste en Italie pratiquant un Death à la IN FLAMES cernés de passages sombres et psychotiques. ENEMYNSIDE, c'est une bouffée de pure trash nous venant de Rome. PSYCROPTIC nous démontre qu'au pays des kangourous, on est capable de concilier une flopée d'influences extrêmes dans un death/trash original et convaincant. KRUSH prouve que le true punk is not dead. ALIENATION MENTAL est sans contexte l'élu de cette compile avec le son de guitare le plus cafouillis, des vocaux alternant cris suraigües death/chasse d'eau couvrant le reste de la musique !? Au moins l'esprit grind reste intègre. A noter un dépliant des logos des groupes fournis avec leur adresse pour les puristes !

 

IN EXTREMIS Zine (Fra)

Initiative très louable que de proposer sur une même compilation, un aperçu brutalissime des scènes Death et Grind internationales. Au total 28 groupes pour différents pour une heure et vingt minutes de terrorisme métallique ultime. L'excellent Grind d'Ahumado Granujo, Alienation Mental, Pig Destroyer et Scalplock y côtoie les fiers guerriers old school que sont Incinerator, Repugnant, Damaged ou Warmonger. La France n'est pas en reste avec les sublimes 7th Nemesis même si les représentants hexagonaux n'y sont pas assez présents à mon gout. D'excellent révélations vous y attendent comme Impurity, Siksakubur (de Java), Psycroptic, sans oublier les géniaux Illogicist. Un investissement chaudement recommandé. CDr pochette pro dispo contre 5 euros.
