REBORN FROM ASHES #3

Reborn from ashes is a cool zine.
The word "cool" could take various meanings, but in this case I would rather point the state of mind of the editor: Something like he's back from a hard day of work, and is happy to spend few hours of warm relaxation in the underground... No crumbshit, no trueism, but musical pleasure.
The coolness could also be mentionned because R.F.A (Nothing to do with German history, the editor has Mexican blood) reminds quite a lot of the cool Death metal and Brutal death zines from the 90's! You know, all these cool fanzines that shared great passion for the underground and conveyed more feelings and hot energies than most of the cerebralized stuffs we can read nowadays...
The editor does his job quite well, and so the interviews are personnalized and quite interesting (He searches for the things that make talk and occurs to find some cool "G points" héhé... The one of SLOTH is great, good remembrances from my paper days and describes very well the zine-feelings of then), the reviews are enthusiasitc and not bad (Some are nicely honest and made laugh Ah Ah! Kicking some ass is good... Some are less bomb-blasting, but maybe tastes are a matter of tastes after all?). The layout is computer done, clear, readable, not particular but quite cool.
I already could read the previous issue, and I would say this one is better... Maybe because the summary of interviews is cooler for me (Less unknown underground mexican outifts from the end 80's) but also because the english writing has improved and is more fluid and so easier to surf onto.
I won't dive too much into little details, every zine has it's good or less good moments... REBORN FROM ASHES is a well balanced zine and could be a very cool item for those who like Death metal/ brutal death and are mostly there for the listening pleasure! :-)

Interviews: INGURGITATING OBLIVION, ABOMINANT, DENIAL, GRAVEHILL, SLOTH, OMINOUS CRUXIFIX, WITCHES...
